Lemon Sage Ginger

I swear I think I make this soap just for me. Some other people like it but not like I do. Its made with essential oils only along with Dried Sage, Lemon Peel Granules and Powdered Ginger. I have not made it since June of 2008!

I made it this time with Babassu Oil. Babassu oil has been used for centuries to soothe dry skin, and comes from the fruit kernels of the Babassu palm native to the southeastern Amazon region of Brazil. Babassu oil is a superior emollient beneficial for both dry and oily complexions, gently moisturizing the skin without contributing to an oily sheen. It's especially suitable for eczema, itchy, dry and inflamed skin.

Chamomile Lavender

This soap was made with a bunch of lanolin, not enough to use on your wool but enough to make a luxe soap. I forgot to use the Chamomile Extract this time because it was starting to seize but this is a nice soothing yet spicy combination.

Salt Scrub Soap

So I can no longer get the Bolivian Sea Salt so instead I used the same salt blend that I use to make my Salt Scrub: Dead Sea Salt, Spa Salt, Sea Salts, Epsom Salts, Dendric Salt. This is actually very nice because it is a mix of sizes from the kid of grain you's commonly use as table salt to huge hunks of salt.

Why are these types of salts beneficial? Magnesium is important for both combating stress and fluid retention, slowing skin aging and calming the nervous system. Calcium is effective at preventing water retention, increasing circulation and strengthening bones and nails. Potassium energizes the body, helps to balance skin moisture and is a crucial mineral to replenish following intense exercise. Bromides act to ease muscle stiffness and relax muscles. Sodium is important for the lymphatic fluid balance (this in turn is important for immune system function). So we can see that bathing with high quality sea salt could replenish the minerals which are critical to our skin metabolism.

Muscle Relief

I cannot remember the last time I made this. I originally started making this to compete with Dr. Bronner's for my husband's soap love. This is so minty that as I make it it makes my eyes burn. This is very tingly in its final form made with:

-Eucalyptus
-Peppermint
-Camphor
-Corn Mint (also known as Japanese Menthol)
-Spearmint

This time I made it with a touch of Kaolin Clay and TONS of little blue Jojoba Beads. I think the soap will end up very white so the beads will really pop out, visually.

Grapefruit Cornmeal

One of my favorites, great for oily or combination skin, the grapefruit essential oil and the cornmeal suck up and balance oil. This is one of the few soaps I make that is not a blend, I like the simplicity of the grapefruit.

Fresh Blend

An essential oil blend of Orange, Eucalyptus, Patchouli and Ylang Ylang, this soap is fresh but vaguely sensual probably due to the Ylang Ylang and Patchouli. I made it with Rose Hips Powder in addition to the Orange Peel Powder and I love how the color turned out, even better then the last time I made it!!

Cedarwood Sage

This is an essential oil blend of Cedar and Sage. This time I colored it with parsley powder to a nice speckled sage color. Also added at trace is Ginseng Extract. The scientific name for ginseng is Panax which derives from the Latin word "panacea" meaning "cure all." There are many folk-tales of all that Ginseng cures but actual studies show that ginseng is anti-stressing and anti-fatiguing.
